Things have moved on very fast since the announcement that Europe's premier visitor attractions operator, Merlin Entertainment, is working with Blackpool Council on a major regeneration project for the Tower and their other promenade attractions.The ironic Tower complex and promenade will be at the very heart of the town's re-emergence as a world class family leisure resort with the addition of three of Merlin's global attraction brands----MADAME TUSSAUDS, a BLACKPOOL DUNGEON within the Tower complex and a makeup of the Tower top ride with a 4D pre-show attraction utilising the quality and guest experience enjoyed by visitors to the world famous London Eye. Blackpool's own "EYE" over the promenade,seafront and the town will be transformed--the magic of 3D with added sensory,effects of wind,water and sunshine.
These attractions will enhance the world value of a visit to BLACKPOOL TOWER, which has well established venues that will be retained in the new development namely; the Blackpool Tower Ballroom, Circus;and Jungle Jims play area.
Add this to the COMEDY CARPET,SPANISH STEPS and othe promenade developments and the exciting new investment is guaranteed to make this area a "MUST DO" destination for all family visitors.
The BLACKPOOL DUNGEON will have a distinct North West Flavour--with grisly areas devoted the the Pendle Witch Trials and Cromwell's Impact in the area,as well as blood curdling indoor 'DROP RIDE' -Extremis, and much more. This is scheduled to open on the 1st September 2011.
